Rejuvenating the Foundation: The original stamped concrete patio posed challenges with its difficult-to-clean surface and faded color. To prepare the foundation for the new design, we started with a quick grind to even out high spots and create a consistent surface.
Creating a Smooth Surface: Incorporating silica was key step to creating a smooth surface for the new tile to bond. The old stamped concrete underneath had many ridges and lines that would have made it easy for moisture to work its way under the tiles. This foresight is a crucial aspect of long-lasting outdoor projects, mitigating the effects of temperature changes.
